Motion Activated Wall Switch Spy Camera
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets on August 29th, 2010
You can’t seem to trust anyone these days, which could very well be the reason behind more and more spy gizmos that are hitting the market. Here we have the Motion Activated Wall Switch Spy Camera which is pretty much self explanatory – it will record video whenever it detects movement within range, storing all footage onto a microSD memory card (up to 8GB) for your review later. Not only does it do video, but it also records audio so that you can be sure whatever your partner is discussing with a member of the opposite gender remains strictly business and nothing personal. It is a snap to install, and uses very little juice so you won’t notice a huge rise in your monthly power bill. With a 13 days standby time and 6 hours of recording, it will store all video in the MP4/AVI format at 640 x 480 resolution, snapping 2-megapixel stills as well if the need requires. Too bad the range of 3 meters is a tad short for a larger room, but otherwise it should do OK in a bedroom. The camera hold isn’t too discreet if you ask us though, but that’s what you get for $37 these days.

Spy Clock helps you keep tabs at home when you’re absent in body
Posted by admin in Clock Gadgets on July 24th, 2010
Are you suspicious that the tap at home keeps on leaking, and the handyman who drops by is beefier than Mr. America? Well, you might want to make sure the missus isn’t two-timing you behind your back then with the help of the £79.99 Spy Clock (surely that is much cheaper than hiring a private investigator, although a device such as a Spy Clock certainly needs a whole lot more providence to catch someone in the act). This might just be one of the smartest spy gadgets around, looking pretty classy to be placed anywhere in your home while holding an almost-invisible video camera with a motion and sound detector, ready at any opportunity to snap a photo which might lead to incriminating evidence. If its 4GB capacity isn’t up to your liking, you can always expand it further with another microSD memory card. All photos can be transferred over to your computer when no one’s looking via USB.

Wild Planet Spy Video TRAKR
Posted by admin in Kids Gadgets on February 11th, 2010
As a kid you always dream of those ultimate spy toys that allow for you to torture your siblings. As an adult you might still want them, but it’s doubtful that you’ll feel reassured living with a kid that owns one of those serious spy gadgets. This TRAKR would be a whole lot of fun, just as long as you’re the one controlling it. It’d be pure misery for anyone around you that doesn’t possess something like this.
The Wild Planet Spy Video TRAKR can drive into different rooms and allow for you to see and hear what’s going on in that room. Then to top it off, there’s a built-in speaker on the car and a microphone on the remote control. Allowing for you to announce yourself from afar to avoid any pummeling that might follow. Once this comes out in October of this year it’ll cost you $120.

Spycam Classic Lighter Camera
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets on December 9th, 2009
One thing that you ought to be more careful about these days are the number of spy and hidden cameras around, coming in all sorts of shapes and sizes. The Spycam Classic Lighter Camera from ThinkGeek is one of them, where this $59.99 device allows you to record down movements and behavior of your target discreetly without looking out of place. You get 4GB of storage space with this classic style lighter, where it will record in AVI format at 640 x 480 resolution. Plugging it into any available USB port will help juice up its internal battery, while that also allows you to transfer data over in a jiffy. Too bad it isn’t as realistic as to actually double up as a real lighter though.

Gryphon Stealth Wingsuits could replace parachutes
Posted by admin in Future Concepts on December 5th, 2009
So what are we looking at here, a still shot from the next Transformers movie? No, believe it or not, that is a human, one wrapped up in a wing-like contraption.
This is a little pet project of the Special Parachute and Logistics Consortium called the Gryphon Next Generation Parachute System. The idea is instead of soldiers bail out of planes with parachute things on, they put something on that helps them take full advantage of the sky.
In other words, it isn’t a parachute with a big silk canopy that is slowly falling to the earth like giant slow-moving target. No, this Gryphon Next Generation Parachute System would allow a parachuting soldier to get far away (about 30 miles) and would be invisible to radar.
Yes, I’m sure I’m not the only ones who are thinking this, but I would like to think that something like this would help jet-pack technology.
Of course, they would need some sort of jet propulsion. Hopefully it would not end up like the first intercontinental Jetpack flight. Dang, what I wouldn’t give to try out something like that. Of course, this doesn’t look very safe. I suppose there will be a lot of soldiers who will need special training for these babies.

Dash Cam Dually films the inside and outside of the car
Posted by admin in Car Gadgets on December 1st, 2009
I have seen a lot of cameras that are made to record the action outside the car. I honestly can’t think of any reason to have one of these unless you happen to get in a lot of accidents, and you don’t want your insurance rates to go up any more than they already are.
The major difference between the Dash Cam Dually and regular car cameras is that you get two cameras. Most cameras only show the action outside of the car, but this one has a second camera to show the inside of the car.
In addition to these 1.3 Megapixel cameras, it also has four infrared LEDs to illuminate the inside of the video for proper filming. It also has a G-Shock sensor that displays five level settings that can record the impact points. So if you have an accident, it will record the impact, along with a GPS receiver to log the exact location, speed, and direction.
All this information is recorded upon an SD card, so you can easily view it later on anything that reads an SD card.
You should be able to purchase the Dash Cam Dually off of the Spy Gadgets website for a price of about $385.00.

SecureShot clock is nanny-cam with Atomic Clock
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets on November 16th, 2009
This next product must be for those who really want more control in their life. The SecureShot is a way for you to watch others, and it has an atomic clock.
I suppose you could call it a Nanny-cam, just like the one seen in Meet the Parents and The Nanny Diaries. Unlike the cameras put on stuffed animals, this one looks like an ordinary clock.
Assuming you think that an atomic clock is ordinary. Yes, this is one of those clocks that will always be accurate, and if the batteries run out, the clock will be back on time when they get replaced. Looks like it can also do the temperature as well.
As for the camera itself, it can sense body heat from 30 feet away, and then starts to film. It can shoot 20 hours of 640 x 480 video on a built-in SD card. Hopefully, that is enough time to get the footage that you need. By the way, it can run for a year on the included Li-ion battery.
So for all you control freaks who need security camera footage with an always accurate timestamp should head over to the Marquis Security Cameras site and lay down $649. Hey, I didn’t say that this type of control would be cheap.

Brando’s SPY Wireless Camera Pen comes with PMP
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets on November 12th, 2009
This would not be the first time we reported on a Spy Camera Pen, and it probably won’t be the last, either. Normally, spy stuff made for the consumer looks pretty shabby compared to the technology in James Bond or Mission Impossible movies, but this one from our old friends at Brando looks quite decent.
The SPY Wireless Camera Pen + PMP comes in two parts, a transmitter and a receiver. The Transmitter is the pen itself, that transmits with 2.4 GHz. It has a rechargeable battery powered by USB and shoots 640 x 480 video with a lens that no one would ever see unless they looked really close. The lens is positioned perfectly for secret shooting in one’s breast pocket.
The receiver is essentially a PMP with a 3.5 inch screen. Not only can it pick up what the camera is seeing, but it is good for playing all kinds of formats, such as MP3, WMA, MP4, FLV, not to mention JPEGs and e-books. It has 2GB worth of memory built in to it, and expandable with the TF/Micro SD Card slot. It also has a TV out so you can see what you want on a bigger screen.
Not bad for a price of $159. You can get it right now if you head over to the Brando Site.

The Tiny Spy Camcorder Clock
Posted by admin in Clock Gadgets on October 8th, 2009

There are all types of spy gadgets out there, the trick is finding the one that blends in the most with your style. After all, if you have top of the line electronics everywhere, a cheap alarm clock is going to stand out. If you have very sparse college room type furniture then a tissue box holder with a camera in it is probably going to raise some eyebrows. Well this tiny clock is just one of the many ways you can spy on people while you’re away.
Some might find it a touch paranoid that you have video surveillance going on, but if it helps you sleep at night, then it’s worth the cash. This tiny camcorder is built into the clock and has a built-in rechargeable Li-Battery. That battery will work for up to 2 hours of continuous use. It has 4GB of built-in memory and then is able to use a USB flash drive. It hooks up to your computer to swap out data and charge through a USB cable. It has a switch on and off button that will kick on a light that only briefly twinkles to let you know it’s working. You can purchase the camera for $47 from Gadget Brando.

With the Eyeball R1, someone’s a Star Wars fan in the Military
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets on August 22nd, 2009
The Eye Ball R1 can give troops a better view of enemy positions with a simple toss.
There’s a great scene in the Cartoon Network original Star Wars Clone Wars series where Arc Troopers, pinned down and badly needing a fresher perspective, take a spherical probe droid camera and toss it high in the air. The camera gives the troopers a birds eye view of the entire city around them, spotting enemy positions and giving them great advantage when attacking. Well, someone must be a Star Wars geek because Uncle Sam and Remington Technologies have created the Eye Ball R1 Throwable Camera System.
It can’t float high in the year, yet, but this compact, lightweight, spherical camera is designed for high risk tactical situations for military and law enforcement to get a vital viewpoint of what’s going on where they can’t see.
The completely Eye Ball R1 System
Once deployed by a good, strong toss, the Eye Ball R1 can capture video up to 25 yards away and broadcast it wirelessly to their position to a personal display unit (PDU) at up to 200 yards from where it lands. Audio can also be broadcast as well. The PDU can view two Eye Ball R1s at the same time and in full color to it’s 6 1/2″ LCD screen.
In close quarters, the Eye Ball could save lives by seeing around corners.
And what else is cool, is that the Eye Ball is omni directional, rotating at 4 revolutions per minute to identify any potential targets and provide up to a 55 by 41 degree field of view. And if the camera lands upside down, the camera image can be flipped by the operator.
The Eye Ball R1 can operate for a maximum of 2 hours, while the PDU can run for 3 hours. But expect that to increase as the technology matures. And only Arc Troopers know if it’ll every fly.
