SteelSeries 7H headset
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets on March 6th, 2010

SteelSeries ranks pretty high up there on the list if you are one who spends plenty of time gaming, and chances are you would have considered offerings from SteelSeries at one point in your gaming life before settling on a purchase. Well, the company is back yet again with a brand new device known as the SteelSeries 7H headset. Judging by the name itself, you can tell that this is something you wear over your head to provide you with the most authentic gaming experience possible. This high-end headset was specially designed and built for competitive gamers, where you will be able to enjoy a superior soundscape in an exclusive design that travels well with the choice of two ear-cups, accompanied by hear-through cloth and noise dampening leather.
The SteelSeries 7H headset will come with 50mm drivers in the ear-cups that cover the ear fully, letting it deliver a clean soundscape of high, low and mid tones from background, mood setting sounds which are useful in MMO games while those involved in FPS titles will definitely appreciate its ability to handle 3D positional alerts that are so crucial in detecting your opponent’s position. Thanks to its closed-type headset, you will be able to enjoy superior passive noise reduction, specifically developed in cooperation with competitive gamers for use at loud tournaments and LAN-events. Guess that means you have an excuse not to answer your phone whenever there is an incoming call, eh? The previously mentioned two interchangeable ear-cushions can come in leather cushions with noise dampening foam or hear-through cloth covered foam, depending on your preference.
Boasting an all black stealth design for that added menacing look, the SteelSeries 7H headset features subdued chrome elements around each ear-cup and at the base of either side of the headband, making it a snap to dismantle it into four pieces for easy traveling. On its left ear-cup, there is a retractable, uni-directional microphone which can be hidden when not in use. You can place a pre-order for the SteelSeries 7H headset at Amazon.com for $119.99.

DIY Fork Head iPhone stand
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets, DIY Gadgets, iPod Gadgets on March 6th, 2010
Holding up your iPod while you’re seated with a desk in front of you can be pretty tiring on your hand(s) after a couple of hours into the movie, and the constant shifting does not make for a decent viewing experience. However, getting one of those iPod holders does not seem worth it to you, so what do you do next? Enter the DIY Fork Head iPhone stand – this fantastic idea uses unwanted forks and spoons to get the job done, but you will need steady hands to shape it accordingly, and we would highly recommend encasing your iPod in some sort of protective shield.

Stanley Construction Jobsite Radio
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets, iPod Gadgets on March 4th, 2010
Gadgets have to be capable of withstanding the conditions that we regularly find ourselves within. For some, those conditions are not exactly mild and it’s always nice when your favorite music can go with you. This Stanley radio is meant for the harsher conditions, specifically for those that do a lot of manual labor. It could stay in a shop or a construction site and you wouldn’t have to worry as much about it getting damaged.
The radio comes with a cage around it, that’ll hopefully help it survive being knocked around. One thing that is a little troubling is that it’s not mentioned whether or not it’s resistant to things like dust and water. I would like to hope that they just forgot to include that information, but that seems like a pretty big slip up. The radio does have AM/FM capabilities, as well as being USB and SD compatible. Then to finish it off it also is capable of working with your MP3 player. It has a digital LCD display and an AUX input. You can purchase the radio for $52.49 through Tools Now.

Magneat helps you work out hassle-free
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets, iPod Gadgets on February 23rd, 2010
Most of us who spend plenty of time at the gym (or basically are involved in an active outdoor lifestyle) and tune in to their favorite songs over an iPod might just find the Magneat to be just what they need – it helps you enjoy a wired listening experience without having the cord getting all tangled up in the most unexpected places. Of course, since it relies on the magic of magnets, you would have to make sure that your connected portable media player is flash memory-based and does not run off hard drives, since there is always a chance of having all data on your hard drive erased.

iPod Lava Docking Station
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets, iPod Gadgets on February 22nd, 2010
One thing I really didn’t see coming was an iPod dock combined with a lava lamp. I suppose it shouldn’t surprise me. It seems like everyone is trying to combine iPod docks in strange new ways, so a lava lamp is only the next logical step. It’ll make this dock a hit within any frat house and any teenager’s bedroom. If you’re into lava lamps this would make it possible to stare at a glowing blob while you listen to your favorite music.
This dock is compatible with all iPods except for the iPod Touch, so if you have an older iPod you’re in luck. It has a total of 8 docking station insert adapters to allow for the different sizes. The dock will charge up your iPod all the while you get to enjoy the LED light show. The light show itself will phase along with the music, from changing colors to pulsing along with the beat. You can purchase the docking station for £69.99 or about $100

Robotector Action Figure iPhone Case
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets, iPod Gadgets on February 18th, 2010
Well you’ve gotten yourself an iPhone and now you have the tricky business of picking out a case that’s just as awesome as your iPhone. Thankfully Nugo Designs has just the solution out there for you. It’s not just your average silicone case that protects your iPhone or iPod Touch from scratches. It actually morphs your iPhone into an action figure. What more could you ask for in a case?!
Usually the only way a case stands out is by being able to protect your iPhone from harsh conditions. Which really isn’t actually necessary if you’re not a great outdoors man or anything. Sure this Robotector won’t waterproof it or prevent it from being damaged when you drop it off of a cliff. It’s still awesome though, because now your iPod Touch has arms, legs and even a face. These are currently being featured at the Toy Fair, but I haven’t seen any info on pricing.

Deafinite Style concept
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets on February 13th, 2010

The Deafinite Style concept has a two-fold function – this hearing aid also doubles up as a piece of jewelry, and I forsee that many people down the road in the future will definitely find something like this to be attractive. After all, young men these days don’t mind some minor body modifications which involve ear piercings, not to mention that they tend to crank up the volume on their iPods much louder than recommended, destroying their hearing along the way. Why not come up with a hearing aid that functions as a pretty nifty earring as well?

80’s Retro Mix Tape Case for the iPhone
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets, iPod Gadgets on February 13th, 2010
Now that the mixed tape is all but extinct, it’s time to drag out the mixed tape themed accessories. Sure, you probably don’t want to revert back to using old technology, but it’s always fun to have items that remind you of the good old days. Back when you used to listen to the radio intently just waiting to pounce on that record button to get yourself that new song. It’s funny how no one cared about illegal copies of music back in those days. Probably due to the superior sound quality of a mixed tape.
Well now you can wrap your iPhone in vintage technology. This mixed tape doesn’t say what gooey mix is on it, but the 80’s look is enough to keep anyone satisfied. This will hold onto your iPhone and various other similarly sized electronics. As of now this case is sold out within the Etsy seller’s shop. Hopefully they’ll get a new supply soon. It looks like if it were in stock it’d cost around $20.

Heart-Shaped iPod Speaker Dock
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets, iPod Gadgets on February 11th, 2010
If you’re pushing things until the last minute for this Valentine’s Day here is one more heart-shaped gadget. It’s one of the larger heart-shaped docks out there, so it’s bound to make a lasting impression. I’d make sure that your significant other has a thing for sappy sweet gadgets before spending the money on this dock. If pink is their favorite color though, you’ll have it made with this one.
The aluminum speaker comes with a dock connector that works with all iPods and iPhones, including the iPod Nano, Touch and iPhone 3G/3Gs. You can also use the 3.5mm audio line-in cable to hook up your iPod Shuffle, laptop or any other type of MP3 player. It can run on four AAA batteries or a DC charger. It stands 20.5cm by 5cm by 5cm. You can purchase the dock with remote for £24.95 or about $39 through Amazon.

Another Heart Shaped Gadget For Valentine’s Day
Posted by admin in Audio Gadgets, iPod Gadgets on February 10th, 2010

Valentine’s Day is coming up quick and in light of that here’s one more cheesy heart-shaped gadget to go along with the lovey little holiday. This tiny heart will hold onto your iPod and play your favorite music for everyone to hear. Whether they like it or not. They even come in other colors besides pinks and reds. Alright, so it’s only one other color, but it’s something other than pink.
As far as colors go this comes in black, red, dark pink and pale pink. The sweet heart-shaped dock will work with your iPod Classic, iPod Nano and even the iPod Touch. Beyond that it’s pretty much your average run of the mill iPod dock. Except this one is in the shape of a heart. Unfortunately it might be a little difficult to get one of these since it’s straight from Japan.
