Tokyoflash has a special place in our hearts for making crazy and amazing time pieces of the likes we’ve never seen before. They’ve always been creative, using an outside the box approach to making an old favorite in a completely new way. Of course, now that connectivity is a big deal, it should only make sense that they would hop on the bandwagon.
There are 4 new Bluetooth-enabled watches rolling out, the Kisai Blade Wood Link, Kisai Xtal Wood Link, Kisai Spider Wood Link, and the Kisai Sequence Wood Link. The Xtal and Sequence both feature fabric mesh and dark sandalwood which takes on the appearance of a classic TV set. Both have regular and cryptic display options, but are read in different directions. The Spider is the most modern-looking with its transparent screen and web-like mode of telling time. The Blade features a wooden face with LEDs that are bright enough to show through the thin layer of dark sandalwood.
Theses new watches are capable of giving you call, email, sms, and social media alerts to make sure you’re always in the loop. There are also “find my phone” and proximity alerts so you’re never parted from your smartphone for long. These watches don’t have as long of a battery life at 5 days maximum, but the added features makes up for it. These are all going to be available for purchase at $109 until July 2nd, where they will go up in price a bit.

When you’re constantly hopping on and off of a plane, having a run-of-the-mill suitcase is not going to cut it. Two wheels locked into going only one direction will wobble and fall over, a cloth case means everything inside will be squished, and a cheap handle leads to a broken handle sooner than you were expecting. While a hard-shelled suitcase with wheels capable of a 360 are the easiest to maneuver while keeping your stuff safe, there are other suitcases that take their job far more seriously.
We’ve seen some connected suitcases in the past, but as it is with most things in the ever-advancing technology market, something better was bound to come along. The Space Case 1 is looking like the most high-tech luggage we’ve seen thus far. It uses a fingerprint scanner to open the polycarbonate case, has a global tracker, a self scale built into the base so you don’t need to pick it up for weight purposes, a built-in power bank, anti-theft proximity sensor, and a Bluetooth speakerphone for taking calls.
Rather unsurprisingly, this works in conjunction with a smartphone app, which is where you will see the weight of your suitcase, can use the biometric scanner and tell where your luggage is on a map. There are two USB ports for the 12,000 mAh battery so you can charge up your both your phone and tablet simultaneously, or help out a fellow traveler. There is a space for laptops that measure up to 15.6″ and other electronics for ease of accessibility. For the clothing compartment there is also a garment bag pocket to keep your clothes wrinkle-free while in transit. You’ll get 10 years of cloud protection, but who knows what’s going to come out in the next year or two, let alone ten. This is going to cost you $279 and up through a crowdfunding campaign, but the retail is expected to be far higher.

While we have been talking about our fair share of portable Bluetooth speakers in recent times, this does not mean that we have forgotten just how useful Bluetooth technology is in other aspects of the audio world. case in point, the Songo Portable compact Bluetooth music receiver that will enable users to stream music wirelessly to their non-Bluetooth-enabled car stereos, speaker systems, headphones and other compatible devices. Sounds like it is quite the nifty device to carry around, don’t you think so?
Thanks to the existence of the Songo Portable, users are able to enjoy tunes right from the comfort of their home, vehicle, the gym and other places, all the while making sure that they are no longer subject to the hassle of handling messy cables which do seem to have a life of their own, as they get all tangled up as much as possible whenever you are gone away for some time, making it a real tough assignment to untangle the bunch when required to do so.
Whenever you connect the Songo Portable through its 3.5mm auxiliary port, the Bluetooth music receiver will be able to offer extra capabilities to wired speaker systems as it will transform them to be fully wireless and operable via Bluetooth-enabled smartphones, tablets and compatible devices. Should it be connected to a vehicle, then you can opt to stream your favorite Pandora or Spotify playlists while you are getting from point A to point B.
Of course, sound is not sacrificed despite the Songo Portable boasting plenty of function. Your ears will definitely appreciate the crystal clear audio with the fullest frequency range that it delivers, making it stand out from the rest of the competing FM transmitters and Bluetooth music receivers that are in the market which tend to result in signals which break up due to their poor connection. This user-friendly device will also boast of a power button that will let you play, pause or skip tracks with one tap. Other features of the Songo Portable would be a Velcro tab that can be mounted conveniently onto dashboards or flat surfaces, an integrated audio coupler that delivers wired headphones with Bluetooth connectivity, and a 14 hour battery life. The asking price? All of just $24.99, now how about that?
Ah, the world of portable Bluetooth speakers (have you ever seen how uncommon non-portable Bluetooth speakers are? Now those are definitely a rare breed, of course) is an interesting one, and you can be sure that it continues to grow from strength to strength. In fact, there are many different players in this particular market, and this time around, we have Braven having announced the availability of the Braven Balance. What makes the Braven Balance so special as opposed to the rest of the portable Bluetooth speakers that are in the market? Well, Braven claims that it has been specially designed for the modern individual who happen to own a vibrant taste, active lifestyle, and passion for exceptional HD sound.
The Braven Balance is touted to transcend the traditional speaker model thanks to its colorful and thin design that makes it just about ready for any kind of venue – be it a fitness studio, a locker room, at the gym, pool, or deck. Apart from that, the Braven Balance will also boast of Braven Balance Technology, which happens to be a proprietary bass optimization system that is capable of pumping out deep, rich sound even at lower volumes, in order to make it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.
To ensure that you know (and your ears, too) that the Braven Balance packs a punch underneath the exterior, Braven has thrown in a Boost Mode functionality, which will be able to instantly maximize sound should the volume selector of the paired device be at its highest level. Thanks to Boost Mode, users are able to surge the Balance’s volume to maximum levels through the easy act of holding down the power and plus buttons simultaneously.
Each Braven Balance will come with 18 hours of playtime with a built-in 4000mAh battery that functions as a charger for mobile devices as and when required. There is also a built-in noise-canceling microphone, an anti-slip exterior, and an IPX7 waterproof rating. Choose from Raven, Alpine, Raspberry, Electric, Sunset, and Periwinkle colors for $129.99 a pop.

While the idea of having a full sound system at home is a great concept, you can really only enjoy the full effect in one room. The sound is not going to magically follow you through the house, and for those that are often on the go, you hardly get to enjoy it at all. If you want to have better quality audio than your smartphone or tablet is capable of, a Bluetooth speaker can be an awesome way to pump up your jams without taking up a lot of space in your bag. Of course, finding a good one for a variety of situations is hard to come by. We’ve looked at such a speaker from Inateck before, but now they’re trying to do one better with the BTSP-10 Plus.
This speaker looks pretty sharp with its matte black rubber finish and red accents for the button labels and speaker grill. The actual shape of the speaker is an octagon, though it features a hexagon pattern on the front, sides, top, and bottom. The designs on the top, bottom, and sides are cut in, while the front has 3D hexagons that are layered to appear as if they are coming closer and further back in space. The logo is featured in the bottom right corner on the front and on a sticker on the back with all the normal tech spec information. There are hexagon rubber feet on the bottom, and the right side bottom has the aux port, on/off switch, and charging port. It certainly has an overall honeycomb feel to it and looks “edgy” thanks to to color palate, however you’d prefer to interpret that.
This uses a 2100 mAh rechargeable battery, which should give users 9-15 hours of play time. When it drains down to nothing, you can recharge it through the included USB cable. It is two inches tall, a little over two inches wide, and 6.5 inches long. Weighing a little under a pound, this makes it the perfect travel companion, especially since it comes with a travel bag. It also comes with an audio cable in case you don’t want to rely on what may not be a strong wireless connection to pump out music through what the site specifically says is “double 3-watt precision-tuned drivers, multi-band compressors built with a high performance composite diaphragm 40 mm Rotunded 16-core NdFeB 3W magnetic driver”, but we’ll say two 3-watt speakers for short.
I would like to think that pinball tables are classic items that need to be preserved, as an entire generation grew up with this as part of their exposure to the teen years at dingy looking arcades. Having said that, to own a pinball table these days would require a fair amount of investment due to the kind of effort that is required to build one of these bad boys, which is why folks have more or less moved on to a digital pinball table. While those might not offer the physical thrill of playing with the real deal, it has far better graphics and more options. If you have some cash to splash, the £12,000 Altar Upcycled Pinball Tables sound like a decent addition to your living room.
The Altar Upcycled Pinball Tables will be a whole new ball game, pardon the pun, as it reincarnates classic pinball tables in the form of stunning coffee tables. These aged cabinets have been given a real face-lift by master-craftsmen, where no two are alike since each one of them happen to be customized by hand, making them a true blue one-of-a-kind collectors items. These timeless playfields have been restored to their buzzing, flashing former glory, and you will most probably never see anything like it ever again.

I am quite sure that many of us cannot wait for December to arrive, as that is when the next instalment of the Star Wars franchise will be released, and we get to see the version of a Stormtrooper after the evil Emperor Palpatine was deposed. It is a pity, really, as one might sympathize with Stormtroopers since they might find it difficult to actually find a job in such an economic setting, and have not much choice but to don the white armor. Well, if you think that the Stormtrooper’s helmet design is the bomb, then the £39.99 Star Wars Stormtrooper Speaker would make for the most pleasant purchase.
This wireless speaker will be no ordinary Bluetooth speaker, that is for sure. After all, it is modeled after the classic Stormtrooper design, and you might even be surprised to hear of its performance level that certainly betrays its relatively diminutive form factor. Other than Bluetooth connectivity, there is also a built-in rechargeable 400 mAh lithium battery as well as rubberized feet that will help prevent it from slipping off wherever you decide to place it. Being an officially licensed Star Wars speaker, it boasts of a 3.5mm audio-in-socket as well just in case you have a legacy device that you would want to plug it in with.
