There are two types of people who take showers. Some like to take the time to think about the coming day and all they’ll need to do, and others rock out to tunes, singing loudly enough for their neighbors to hear. Most of the time we just rely on our smartphones as a speaker, but it’s always on the other side of the shower curtain, and sounds muffled.
If you want a shower speaker that isn’t going to break or short out on you after a few uses, then this H2O Vibe Showerhead with a wireless Bluetooth speaker might do the trick. It has a very wide head at which the center of is the wireless speaker which is detachable. It can not only play audio, but also also will allow you to take calls, which certainly won’t lead to any awkward situations.
Since you’re only replacing the showerhead, there’s no fancy installation to worry about, and it will only take a few minutes to put on. The speaker has a battery life of 8 hours, though you hopefully won’t be sitting in the bath or a shower for that long. It does need to be charged, but if you’re only using it in the bathroom, then it should last for a week or so. This is currently insanely cheap from its list price of $179.99, as it is currently available for $42 (for Prime peeps).

The H2O Vibe Showerhead Speaker – clean up, jam out
Getting up in the morning is not our favorite thing ever. We usually don’t get enough sleep, and are always groggy when the blaring buzzer begins to sound. If you’re tired of being ripped from peaceful slumber by loud sounds or light, then maybe you should opt for a different method of being woken up. If sight, sound, or vibrating smartwatches aren’t your favorite wake up calls, then it might be better to go for something that will affect your sense of smell.
Just as it’s easier to wake up when you smell coffee already made, just imagine what it would be like to smell chocolate, fresh cut grass, or croissants. The Sensor Wake is an alarm clock that uses strongly scented perfumes to permeate your bedroom with delicious smells. You’ll have breakfast, candy, aromatherapy, and even money scented options to choose from.
The diffusion system it uses has the ability to wake you up within two minutes. Of course, if you have the sniffles and your nose isn’t working too well, there’s an audio alarm clock that will also sound after three minutes if you don’t get up. One scented capsule will wake you up about 60 times, and if you’re only getting up during the business week, it should last you a while. This will cost you around $88, and comes with two capsules. You’ll need to buy more capsules if you want this to be more than an audio alarm clock, and they’re expected to cost around $9 a piece.
Available for crowdfunding on Kickstarter

Levitating speakers are not new to us, but that doesn’t make them any less cool. As it is with all gadgets we see on here, there are a variety of similar products that change slightly in usage. This makes it possible for several companies to churn out basically the same thing at a lower or higher price based on their build and functionality. When you see something cool like a speaker that is held up by magnets, you can be sure many more like it will follow shortly.
You’ll be hard-pressed to find a levitating speaker more nifty than the Mars, but if $249 is outside of your price range (what it currently runs for), then maybe the Helium Levitate Speaker will be more to your liking. It houses a 3 watt speaker, and as there are powerful magnets inside, you can attach it to anything metal. You can connect your Bluetooth music players to it, or use the aux cable to hook in. The exterior is glossy, and the rounded edges make it look like a UFO landing on a hill.
This only has a playback time of 5 hours, which isn’t much if you’ve got a full day planned. This is the cheaper option out of the levitating speakers out there though, so it shouldn’t be too surprising. If you’re wanting a better internal battery, you might want to go for the OOM, though that will be $179 compared the $125 the Helium would cost you. The speaker aspect is portable, and can also be used to take calls on speakerphone thanks to a built-in mic. You will need to have the based plugged in, but there will be a separate cable for the speaker as it charges via USB.
Available for purchase on Red5
