We all want better quality speakers, and it always helps if the sound-boosting device we get is cute. There are more options than can be counted out there which have different shapes, sizes and features. While I understand that coffee is a mainstay for most human beings at this point, it’s probably not the wisest decision to make a speaker that looks like a coffee mug.
The Cup of Mojo Speaker is a portable speaker that looks like a mug for your morning brew. Its handle is a carabiner clip, and it has a rubber bottom to make sure it stays in place. Streaming from a Bluetooth device is possible from a maximum distance of 32.8 feet, and it can keep playing tunes for up to 4 hours. While it does have rechargeable batteries, this is one more item to plug into your computer a few times throughout the day.
The biggest mistake I can see with this is having what looks like a mug sitting next to your computer, and pouring hot coffee into it. They go so far as to state it’s not dishwasher or microwave safe in a joking way, but I think it’s safe to say we all would fear groggily making an accident that can’t be reversed. This will cost you $29.99 (49.99 regularly), which isn’t an exorbitant amount of money, but it’s certainly not cheap for only four hours or play time.

Let’s face the facts – even smartphones these days are starting to jump aboard the waterproof bandwagon, which goes to show just how technology has improved by leaps and bounds over the years, so much so that you now no longer need to worry about wrapping up your smartphone in a piece of plastic, or place it in a Ziploc bag whenever you head out for the great outdoors just in case it rains, or if you’re about to embark on a whitewater rafting adventure. Well, smartphones being smartphones, do have media playback features, and most of the time, their speakers are not all that powerful, which is why when it comes to sharing your favorite tunes with others, a portable speaker would come in handy. Why not take the waterproof route as well to complement your waterproof smartphone? NYNE might have just the thing for you with the Aqua waterproof speaker.
The Aqua is a fully waterproof and floating Bluetooth speaker, where it has been IPX7 tested, and boasts of 100% waterproof protection in order for you to enjoy your favorite tunes regardless of whether you are by the river fishing, at the swimming at the pool with family and friends, belting out your “greatest hits” in the shower, hanging out on the beach, or hitting the snowmobile trails. Jam out without any worries with the Aqua.
The Aqua will connect to a compatible media playback device using its 33-foot Bluetooth connectivity range, so that your phone or tablet will remain safe and dry from a distance as you stream your favorite songs, all sans a wired or dock connection. Apart from that, it boasts of up to 10 hours of playtime on a full charge, which should be more than enough time for any outdoor party that you organize. The IPX7 rating allows the Aqua to be submersed in three feet of water for up to half an hour, and there is also an integrated waterproof microphone that allows you to enjoy hands-free phone calls.

It’s already cold, but you can feel the temperature inching down further and further. Not only doesn’t that mean it’s going to be snowy and miserable, but it also means the holiday season approaches with its various traditional meals and baked goods. It’s hard to stay in shape when all you want to do is hunker down and eat. If you have the willpower to keep up with running, then you likely want to try and find ways to make it more enjoyable than the arduous and almost painful task it is in the winter.
Layering is the only way to keep yourself warm, but you also want to listen to music. The Runphones Wireless are the perfect way to listen to tunes and simultaneously bundle up. It’s a sport-style headband that has wireless speakers inside to let you run to the beat. The speakers are rechargeable, and will give you 8-12 hours of music at full power. As it would be disgusting otherwise, this headband is machine washable, but it’s imperative that you remember to remove the speakers first, as they can only handle a little bit of water.
This is sort of a “one size fits all”, meaning it won’t fit those who are above 5’3” with short hair or those with a big head and thick hair. This is available in black, pink, gray, and sapphire (glorified blue) at a price of $99.99. These would also be useful for those who like to sleep with music, but don’t want to blare music out of a sound system that a significant other or neighbors could hear.

Speakers do come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and it does take a fair amount of market research to be able to know just which particular model would fit your needs nice and fine. Having said that, if you are a huge fan of the space opera known as Star Wars, perhaps you might want to fan that interest into a bigger flame, what with Star Wars Episode VII about to be released in due time. Enter the cute looking, yet functional $29.99 Rechargeable Mini Speaker, where these are tiny Star Wars speakers that aim to deliver Star Wars sound.
The Star Wars Rechargeable Mini Speaker will be equipped with a single cable which will feature ends for power and audio connections. After all, with everyone’s favorite astromech droid, R2-D2, being a jack of all trades, his expertise this time around would come in the form of speakers. Of course, if you feel that you would make for a decent Sith, then you can always pick up the Darth Vader version, where this once fully human Jedi Master plunged into the depths of darkness within his soul in his quest to save his beloved Padme, also has the ability to pump out music – since he is now more machine than man. Press the speaker down, and you’re good to go, pumping out the right tunes. Do bear in mind that the USB port is meant for power only, while the 3.5mm headphone plug will hook up to your audio devices.

Not all headbands are created equal, and while there are some other headbands out there that intend to help send you to slumberland, this particular $149.95 TV Listening Headband has other item on its agenda – it will come with integrated wireless speakers which are comfortable enough to be worn while you grab some shuteye. The transmitter itself will be plugged into a TV’s audio port with the included RCA cable, or alternatively, you can have connect via the included USB and 3.5mm headphone cables to a computer, smartphone, or other compatible audio devices. There is a solitary button which is capable of controlling all functions, making it a snap to operate even when it is dark. Keeping track of what is going on in your home is important, especially when you happen to be at work or are on a holiday, and would like to know that everything is running fine and dandy when you are not around. Having said that, a home video camera would definitely come in handy, and izon has a couple of such models at their disposal for your consideration – and regardless of which one you choose, they will be compatible with Android-powered phones and tablets.
Regardless of which particular model that you choose, both of them will not break the $100 price point, which means that izon’s cameras will be able to offer the best value option on the market. The izon view as well as the izon 2.0 happen to be Wi-Fi enabled video cameras which can be set up in a jiffy anywhere in your home or office. It will work in tandem with the companion Android app, allowing you to stream video as well as audio to your device, so that you will have the ability to be there even when you are physically unable to be present.
The izon view which will boast of night vision, and the izon 2, will retail for $99.95 and $79.95, respectively. Both of these cameras can be purchased online, and the manufacturer intends to enable both of them to punch above their weight category, so to speak, as they will be equipped with comparable technologies as the more-expensive, category competition.
The izon view can be used on any flat surface and can be mounted to a ceiling as well, where it can tilt and swivel easily on its unique magnetic base. Setting it up is a snap – there is no need for a computer, and it takes mere minutes to do so. As for the slightly cheaper izon 2.0, this model will feature a minimalistic design, where it supports push notifications on your mobile device, and will also be Wi-Fi connected.

We all have to write notes, letters, and memos during the day. Whether or not we mean to, we get attached to a certain pen or pencil that we prefer to use for any writing we have to do. The way it feels in our hand and the quality of line it produces starts to somehow seem more comfortable than any other option out there.
Of course, the same can be said of a stylus. Many of us are starting to take notes through our tablets or phones, and a stylus can be quite useful instead of having to type and erase everything. Although we don’t usually go through styluses as quickly as we do pens and pencils, it makes it that much more important that you pick out one you really like. Those who have always liked writing with a fine-tipped tool will like the DotPen. This can work with virtually any device be it iPhone, iPad, or Android, and has a 1.9mm active quill.
This is made of machined anodized aluminum alloy, and has a rubber grip. It does require a AAA battery to function, but that will mean 12 hours of power. So long as you have rechargeable batteries in and a charger nearby, it’s no different than plugging it in via USB (though it will take an extra step to get the battery out). There’s a LED to show you when this is “on”, and it comes with a cap to keep the tip safe. This will cost you $69.99, which is rather expensive for a stylus that runs off of batteries, but it all comes down to individual preference and what you’re willing to pay.
When it comes to gaming, there are many different options that one is able to choose from, and while some folks prefer the reliability of a console, where you are more or less guaranteed to be able to play any game that is released on that particular console, others prefer the flexibility of a gaming PC that would let you tweak its performance capabilities accordingly. Dell’s Alienware brand has released a fair number of high end gaming products in the past, but this time around, they intend to deliver a true next-gen gaming experience by offering the best of both worlds – both in the console and PC gaming departments, of course.
With the Alienware Alpha, one will be able to enjoy more than 600 Steam controller-supported games right smack in the middle of into your living room. The Alienware Alpha is deemed to be the first PC gaming console in the world that delivers the ease of a console, and yet offers the freedom of a complete PC. Expect the Alienware Alpha to pack the most recent technologies from Intel and NVIDIA, coming in a form factor that is only a fraction of the size of the existing “next-generation” consoles. The Alienware Alpha boasts of a striking design that is undeniably Alienware, and yet it does not look as though it is out of place when placed under your TV.
While you can have it run on Windows 8.1, the Alienware Alpha will boot straight into the Alpha-UI, which happens to be an exclusive user interface that offers streamlined controller-based navigation, which means that there is no need for any kind of mouse or keyboard. Alpha-UI would allow one to select Steam Big Picture, adjust system and AlienFX settings, all straight from the comfort of your couch.
It will take full advantage of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M, which happens to be based off NVIDIA’s latest Maxwell architecture, letting Alienware eke out even more performance by customizing the GPU so that it can run at speeds which are not found in other devices. Apart from that, gamers will not miss out on a single frame. Hardware specifications include a Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, a choice of Intel’s 4th generation Core i3, i5 and i7 processors, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, hard drive options up to 2TB and the latest Intel Wireless 802.11ac adapters, all sporting an asking price of $549 a pop.

We all wish there was an “easy button” for different aspects of our lives. It would be awfully convenient if we could just press a button, and then relationship, work, and other problems in life would just disappear. While you can’t whisk away issues with people, you can make other parts of life far easier. Our smartphones have certainly made things more streamlined, but they can’t do everything for us.
If you wish you had easy buttons all over the place, you can get Flic. This is a wireless button that can control a variety of different things for your daily life. The only limitations are your imagination. You can control lights, use it as shutter control for your phone, as a snooze button, to play music, send distress signals, and much, much more. These can integrate with normal or smart homes alike, but can also be used in an office or outdoor setting as well.
To set a specific task to a button, just open the app, press the button, and assign it a job. Every time you press it after that, it will do whatever you set it as. It has a backing that can be stuck anywhere you think it would be the most appropriate, but it can be moved if need be. This will work with iOS and Android, and if you have more ideas about integration, you can get the developer kit. While you can get one Flic for $23, the idea is to have these all over the place. You’ll likely want to get anywhere between 4-6 of these to get the most out of them, which will cost $89-99.
This is currently available for crowdfunding on indiegogo
