When it comes to the world of digital cameras, most folks would think of Canon and Nikon where commercial class DSLRs and compact digital cameras are concerned, although as of late, the likes of Samsung and Sony, too, have made their mark in the DSLR market, with Olympus and Panasonic preferring to remain on the side of Micro Four Thirds shooters. Well, Panasonic of Japan’s latest release in the world of digital cameras come in the form of the Lumix DMC-XS1, which will arrive in 10 new exclusive designs for the fashion conscious.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-XS1 is a digital shooter that will combine high picture quality and a host of creative options, all crammed into Panasonic’s slimmest body yet, in order to deliver a fun and artistic time of photography. Individual extraordinary design patterns made available for the Lumix DMC-XS1 would make it a whole lot more desirable for trend-conscious consumers. As for the new design patterns, they will be based on the following six concepts, Pop Art – cheerful design with colorful graphics, Gift Wrapping – designed in the motif of beautiful gift wrapping, Floral Nature – designed in the motif of plants and flowers, Digital – urban design with digital typography, Texture – high fashion design with faux texture and Japanese Traditional – design with Japanese traditional Kanji characters.
Of course, there is no point in making sure that there is all style and no substance, which is why the Lumix DMC-XS1 incorporates a 24mm wide-angle 5x optical zoom lens (equivalent to 24 mm to 120 mm on a 35mm camera) for versatile image composition, a range of built-in special effects, 720p HD video recording capability, Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector, Intelligent Exposure and Face Detection. All 10 new designs are already readily available if you are interested in picking one up.

If there is one aspect of portable speakers which should always be there, then size would be it. After all, if it is too large or bulky to tote around, surely it is not considered to be “portable” enough, don’t you think so? Firebox has something up their sleeves with the £59.99 Phoenix Portable Bluetooth Speaker, and it is hoped that you do not judge the device by its size. After all, Firebox claims the Phoenix Portable Bluetooth Speaker to offer a whole lot more bang for your hard earned buck, where it delivers incredibly loud audio despite coming in a small form factor.
Do not be fooled by its exterior at first glance, where it sports tight curves and a shapely figure, this is still one perky little portable Bluetooth speaker. Since it operates using Bluetooth connectivity, there are no cables required to have it pumping out your favorite audio via its pipes, giving you more than an adequate amount of space to dance around the room. Needless to say, it works best with Bluetooth compatible devices within a 20 meter radius, and will come in blue and black shades, depending on your choice.

You might have grown up wanting to be a Jedi Master always, but somehow or rather, the amount of midi-chlorians in your body have proved to be insufficient to let you enrol in the Jedi Temple and begin your training as a padawan. Well, if you want to show the world that you still have it in you to be a Jedi Knight one day, then it would be wise to invest in the $49.95 Motion Clock Radio.
Of course, this will run on electric power and a myriad of electronics as well as sensors underneath the hood, so this is good enough only to fool those who live on backwater planets, where they have absolutely no idea on how electronics work. As for the lightsaber, you might not have the knowledge to construct one of your own, but surely you can call up someone from Hasbro to send you one! The Motion Clock Radio no longer requires you to fumble around to look for the snooze button, where all you need to do is wave your hand over it and it will snooze. Need to check the time or temperature? Wave your hand one more time. Pretty cool, no?

Some of us just have this natural tendency to jam with the rest of like minded folks in a band, while others do not have the luxury of doing so. On the other hand, there is also another group of folks who would love nothing better than to drink in all of the limelight, being a real soloist. However, to reach such dizzy heights, you would first need to have the kind of mad skills that would put even the likes of Slash to shame, and what better way than to get plenty of practice in before you actually show your talent off to the rest of the waiting world? You might as well do so with air guitar riffs, but it is time to throw down the gauntlet and settle for something more mature – like the £29.99 Electronic Guitar Shirt.
Granted, most of the best guitarists in the world happen to be slim, perhaps because they exude so much energy on the stage, that they burn all the calories and then some (such as post-concert nookies and such). Still, we would like to ensure that the Electronic Guitar Shirt is all inclusive, hence it would come in large, medium and small sizes for folks from all walks of life to be able to have an equal chance at making it big in the music scene after they have gotten sufficient practice on the Electronic Guitar Shirt.
You can now be a guitar god at any time of the day, regardless of where you are, where your greatest asset (apart from your mad guitar skills, of course) would be the Electronic Guitar Shirt that you are wearing. Don’t be like all of the other rock stars who think nothing of ripping their shirt apart – if you do so, you can kiss your budding busking career goodbye. After all, it is cheaper than purchasing a real guitar, and right now when you are just starting off, you need all the help you can get, including cheap musical instruments.
Sporting a fully playable integrated guitar, it has literally no strings attached. Heck, the manufacturer even threw in a mini amp with tone and volume knobs, and that will slip into a pocket in the hem. All you need to do to impress the crowd would be the strum away using the included magnetic pick, and watch the money come flowing in. Whatever the case is, the Electronic Guitar Shirt does need washing after soaking up all of your sweat during your performances, just remember to remove the batteries before you hand wash it, and never ever iron over the plastic area. Oh yeah, carrying a quartet of spare AAA batteries would be a good idea, too.

So, you have yet to adorn your desktop with a pair of decent speakers, simply because you are still in two minds over which particular make and model that you should settle for? Perhaps after reading this, you might be persuaded by Satechi, where the company has just announced the Satechi Dual Sonic Speakers. The Satechi Dual Sonic Speakers would arrive in a sleek form factor, sporting a compact design and runs off USB power, which means you have at least one more power socket available to plug in other devices at your work space.
The Satechi Dual Sonic Speakers would play nice with either Mac or PC computers, and while it is not going to bring down the house, the 3 watt speakers will boast of Acoustic Air Spring Technology which are said to be able to reproduce crystal clear audio without missing a beat, translating to incredible reproduction of bass, highs and mids. On the outside, you would find a modern, glossy finish, blue LED accent lights and padded feet for a scratch-free surface. Choose from black or silver shades for $24.99 a pop if you are interested.

I guess I wouldn’t call myself a birdwatcher, but there are quite a few interesting creatures hanging out around my house, most notably a very noisy Woody-Woodpecker type bird that startles me awake each and every morning, believing someone is firing an automatic weapon at my house. I’d love to get some pictures of that bird, but I always seem to miss the “moment”
Well, Sony has an answer to some of those missed wildlife moments, or even some of that quick sports action that usually passes you by… Check out Sony’s DEV-50V new, smaller, lighter, and weatherproof HD digital recording binoculars. This second generation of binoculars not only gives you excellent viewing, they also give you the ability to to take HD video with stereo sound, or snap 20.4 megapixel stills with just the touch of a button, and low light is no problem!
The DEV-50V is actually 30% lighter than the old models and includes splash and dust resistance, so a little inclement weather shouldn’t rain on your parade. The DEV-50V has a variable zoom that allows you to zero in on your “target” with a magnification range of up to 25X and it utilizes a new Hyper Gain function which electronically increases brightness in your viewfinder, so you can locate and frame things even in dim conditions.
These binoculars also have an electronic autofocus, so theres no need to manually focus, like with your old low tech binoculars, and it keeps things sharp even if they’re moving. Yes, the DEV-50V has geo-tagging capability and it lets you record scenes in awesome 3-D! I love it! The new DEV-50V digital recordable binoculars from Sony will be available in June for about $2000. Yikes! I might have to save up some cash, but rest assured, either way – I’m going to “shoot” that bird.
When it comes to gaming, there is one name that would definitely resonate with gamers – whether they are casual or hardcore, it does not matter. Razer is a name that has rolled out its fair share of hardware, be they mice, mouse pads, or keyboards (and even tablets recently), not to mention marrying such high-tech hardware to software apps that get the job done. Well, Razer’s latest effort would come in the form of the Razer Comms that is currently in Beta format, where it will help to connect gamers around the world. Let us learn more about Razer Comms in the extended story.
In a nutshell, Razer Comms is an all-in-one communications solution for gamers. After taking in feedback that were gleaned from a community-based closed beta program, Razer Comms will now see the incorporation of VoIP client, instant messaging and IRC-chat features, where it will enable gamers all over the world to hook up to a single service, all without having to fork out an additional cent. After all, times are hard, and this is another example that there is a free lunch after all. Not only that, Razer Comms also boasts of an in-game overlay that will seamlessly integrate with PC games, delivering uninterrupted gameplay while at the same time typing or talking with friends.
Razer Comms will rely on the implementation of complex audio algorithms as well as an ultra-fast server infrastructure in order to deliver precise, crisp and clear communication without any danger of timeouts or lag spikes. Not only that, it also features advanced noise reduction and echo cancellation, which will definitely be a boon to the millions of PC gamers around the world.
The history of Razer Comms is a rather interesting one, where it came about as an internal project that was built on the spare “10 percent passion time” of a couple of engineers (sounds a bit like Google, no?). After taking in their fair share of fan requests to make it widely available, Razer Comms is now a fully supported project with a specially designated team working on it. Let’s hope that when Razer Comms is no longer in beta, it would be a game changer, pun not intended.

David and Calvin Laituri are the founders of the new product brand known as Onehundred, and they have recently launched the Pucs project. Just what the heck is the Pucs project? Well, it is essentially some sort of ‘rechargeable ice’ that will not dilute your drinks with unwanted water, and this particular project has found its way to uber popular crowdsourcing site Kickstarter. Pucs has been machined from solid stainless steel, where it will be offered in sets of half a dozen, and will arrive in a solid Maple or Walnut case for that added touch of class. This would make the Pucs project ideal to see action in any drink, delivering the perfect chilling experience at all times.
If you are interested, the Pucs can be yours eventually – if you have placed a pre-order on Kickstarter, with the starting “investment” of $35. David Laituri, Founder of Onehundred, said, “We like to think of Pucs as ‘rechargeable ice’ – all the chilling benefits of a traditional ice cube without the added taste of that month-old fish at the bottom of your freezer or adding all the unwanted water at the end. With a strong commitment to sustainability, we bake a high level of environmental thoughtfulness into everything we create. Pucs was created by using sustainable sourced wood, renewable energy and local manufacturing.”
After all, I am quite sure that everyone out there has their favorite chilled drink, whether it contains any alcohol or not, but when it comes to making sure that they end up chilled with ice cubes, eventually, the ice cubes will melt, and whatever you have in your glass will be watered down. I guess this affects all your juices and hard liquor, but not if your favorite “poison” of choice would be mineral water.
Since the material that Pucs are made out of is stainless steel, it works as a gradual conductor, chilling steadily and evenly, where it will stay cool for quite a while. A room-temperature Puc will take the edge off of a mug of piping hot coffee for sure!

Waking up in the mornings can be rather difficult to do, especially when you happen to have a sleepless night before that. Of course, it does not help that you have a highly stressful job to attend to each weekday. I suppose having the right kind of alarm clock might do the trick, as some of us tend to sleep through the ringing of the alarm. Enter the £28.99 Flip Alarm Clock, which as its name suggests, is flippin’ brilliant, coming in blue, lime, purple, and red colors.
The Flip Alarm Clock is so easy to use, that it does away with the need for complicated settings and control panels. Not only that, it comes in a lightweight and colorful form factor, making sure that things remain simple at all times. Sporting a big bold design, there will be a couple of sides to this timepiece, which have been embossed ON and OFF for obvious reasons, so all you need to do is flip it to the side that you want, as the bits and pieces within will then be able to tell just which way it is facing, and alert (or not) you as requested.

Being involved in galactic travel is definitely an expensive process and massive undertaking for any country, let alone corporation. Of course, we have fictional companies like the Weyland Corporation or the Umbrella Corporation that seem to have bottomless reserves of money to fund their activities, but here we are presented with a far more affordable way of space travel – using your imagination only, of course. I am referring to the $19.99 DIY Paper USS Enterprise 1701 Kit.
The name of the DIY Paper USS Enterprise 1701 Kit says it all, it glorifies paper and not space as the final frontier, and each purchase will come with all the relevant bits and pieces required for you to construct your very own ultimate paper model of the original USS Enterprise 1701. Heck, to make sure that there is the added touch of realism just in case your imagination fails you, a bunch of electronics will also give it lights and sound, and there will be an accompanying book that chronicles the different Enterprises of the Star Trek universe. If you can fix IKEA furniture yourself, assembling the DIY Paper USS Enterprise 1701 Kit should not be a pain since it comes with step-by-step instructions for assembly.
