Libratone has just made an announcement for the first no-compromise and hassle-free wireless speaker in the market, calling it the Libratone Zipp. You know that you have got yourself quite the winner here with the Libratone Zipp, where it comes in an attractive and compact form factor that is also proud to be the first and only device which is capable of delivering the performance and convenience of AirPlay without having to have a Wi-Fi network in the vicinity. Not only that, you are able to kiss goodbye to all kinds of complicated setup courtesy of Libratone’s all-new PlayDirect technology.
The battery-powered Libratone Zipp will enable you to take wireless high-end audio to the outside world, although I am not quite sure whether sharing your devoted musical taste in Justin Bieber is something that the general public would appreciate. It is said that a full charge on this puppy is capable of delivering up to eight hours of continuous playtime when wired, and half that amount when you rely on a wireless connection.
Not only that, when you want to be fashionable, the Libratone Zipp will not disappoint you at all, since it also comes with changeable wool covers in eight vivid colors that is able to suit all tastes and occasions. Similar to the rest of the Libratone product family, the Libratone Zipp will play nice without a hitch or hassle with the iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and Mac, and of course, who can forget the venerable PC.
If you are interested in the Libratone Zipp, you will be able to pick it up in Salty Grey or Raspberry Red October 2012 onwards at $399 a pop. Alternatively, you can opt for the Libratone Zipp to come in a 3-pack-color box with two extra wool zip-on covers thrown into the mix, and these will set you back by $449 per box.
I think, therefore I am. Well, how about “iRiff, therefore iRock!”? All right, lame jokes aside, if you think that you can carry a decent tune on your own and are currently looking out for the next big break in life as a budding musician, then you might be interested in checking out the £99.99 All Star Guitar. With the All Star Guitar, all you need to do is dock your iPad into the padded compartment of this full-scale guitar-shaped controller, boot up the All Star Guitar app and you are good to go. You are able to strum the virtual strings in order to play chords of your favorite song, or just to pluck them in an individual manner. With 14 rows of illuminating fretboard buttons, you are able to play thousands of songs in a jiffy simply by following the LEDs. It does seem to feel as though this is going to be more of a game than a pure musical instrument now, right? Oh yeah, you can also kiss goodbye to blisters with the All Star Guitar – isn’t this like the next best thing since sliced bread? What are you waiting for?

I live in an area where everyone is on a bike. I see them all day long with their spandex on, water bottles strapped to their bike frames and earbuds in their ears. Now I’m sure they’re listing to very motivational music, I mean, I know I’d need motivational music (or a rabid pit bull behind me) to keep going. What they are NOT listening to however, is me honking my horn. I honestly don’t mind one bit, but it just doesn’t seem safe.
So for those of you that are athletically inclined (or love someone who is) you may want to check out NYNE’s NB-200 Bluetooth speaker. Small enough to fit in your pocketbook, the NB-200 comes with custom clips that allow you to attach device to your handlebars and enjoy incredible sound quality, while still being able to hear the important sounds of the road around you.
Listen to streaming music from your Bluetooth connected device, fast forward, or adjust volume from the speaker’s controls located right at your fingertips. Answer calls through the NB-200′s speaker by simply pressing the answer button and chatting away, or wait till your grueling uphill battle has been won, and call back the last number that called you, again, right from your speaker.
The NB-200, is light, powerful and very compact, charges via micro USB, has a microphone with noise cancellation capabilities and is easy to pair with your iDevice. Its rechargeable lithium ion battery is good for about 5 hours of continuous play time. 5 hours? on a bike? I’m tired just thinking about it. The NB-200 is available at amazon.com for around 129 bucks and if I had a bike, or participated in any form of physical exercise whatsoever, I’d want one.
Love makes the world go round, or so that is what we have been taught to believe. Well, some of our friends in the animal kingdom are easily lovable without much effort on your part, such as puppies, kittens, and of course, penguins. It is not going to be easy keeping a pet penguin in your home due to the kind of special environment that it needs to thrive in, which is why if your little toddler has been bugging you for a pet penguin for his or her birthday, you can give in to that request – without getting a real penguin. Still, the $59.99 Penbo Lovable Penguin is one lovable bugger, as Penbo interacts with you through touch and sound.
Not only that, there is a surprise-colored (pink, blue or green, although we would have liked to see the entire rainbow range) Bebe which will pop out from Penbo’s stomach pouch (is this some sort of penguin-kangaroo hybrid that we do not know of?), playing games with one another to boot. Penbo is capable of chirping and dancing around, and just like some of the more modern toys, will be able to communicate and interact with Bebe and other Penbos too. Best to get rechargeable batteries in your home if you want the Penbo Lovable Penguin to be a permanent fixture, as it runs on half a dozen AA batteries.

Face it, business or student travel really becomes an art form. Staying organized is key. Road warriors have favorite hotel chains, airlines, car rental agencies. We can travel for 3 days in a bag most consider an overnighter. We essentially take our office on the road with sizeable space for laptop, tablet, phone, chargers, books and paperwork. And traveling with all of that is no small task. You can always tell the road warriors at airport security, they perfectly orchestrate their actions to get through efficiently. And waiting for their flight, they are typically sucked up next to a power plug loading up the laptop before the flight.
In the attempt to fit into the road warrior’s orchestra, Powerbag™ offers their top-of-the-line Business Class Pack. As a former road warrior (up to 40 weeks a year) I can attest to the need for 1) electronic charge, 2) space and 3) functionality while on the road. And the Business Class Pack offers all 3. Included is a 6000mAh Lithium Polymer battery with USB connector, enough to charge an iPhone 4 times. Built-in mini and micro USB connectors and standard Apple connector cover most devices. But an open USB port gives you an option for additional cables. To recharge the pack simply plug the wall adaptor into the water resistant DC port. So regardless of where you are, you can charge up your life. The Business Class Pack also offers a protected tablet-like space in addition to ample storage for files or even clothes. Powerbag also thought about the laptop, with a FlyFlat space for a 15” unit – so it laysflat on the x-ray belt and keeps security hassles to a minimum,
Business Class Pack, $179 at mypowerbag.com, will cost a bit more, but for the true road warrior the investment pays off quickly with the convenience and practicality to make the trip as smooth as possible.

It’s amazing how quickly our kids grow up, that being said I have to admit I still see my daughter as a little girl and I’m not really enjoying having to let her venture off to do things on her own. This year she wants to go trick-or-treating with her friends. What? No mom to take pictures, “test” the candy and watch for traffic? Is she nuts?
I know this next gadget isn’t the same as being there, but maybe it can help ease my transition into my kids more independent lifestyle. Welcome the Spy Watch, so much more than a time telling gadget, the Spy Watch is also an emergency communication device, MP3 player and a GPS tracker.
The very cool looking wristwatch features on demand GPS locationing when queried by guardian SMS message and it allows up to 6 GPS location waypoint presets, letting you to set boundaries and receive automatic SMS messages sent to your guardian numbers when the Spy Watch enters or leaves waypoint locations. As a communication device, the Spy Watch allows contact with up to 4 “guardian” phone numbers and of course it has parental controls that allow incoming and outgoing call blocking.
If memory serves I was gifted my first pair of portable speakers. And boy have I used the heck out of them. I never thought of all the uses prior to the kind gift: tunes at the desk or in the kitchen, watching movies on the tablet or movie. And boy, were they a life saver on the road. No road warrior should be without a set. But toting batteries with you is inconvenient. iHome, makers of various a/v products, added a couple twists to the portable speaker concept that is worth a look.
The iHM62, $49.96 on Amazon, brings practicality and fun to the world of portable speakers. These collapsible speakers come with a 2 in 1 cable enabling charge from a USB device and output via standard 3.5mm audio plug. The lithium ion battery will get you 2 hours of playback – enough to typically get you back to a power source. The vacuum bass design gives hearty volume and bass too. But the fun angle of these speakers is the fact they change color – green, red, blue, yellow. Single color and color fade modes also exist if you are not in the mood for changing color. With the collapsible, handheld design and a carry pouch the iHM62 travels well too. You know you need portable speakers, why not make them rechargeable? And add a little color to your life at the same time.

Vinyl Forever rolls back the years
For one and a half decades, both G-Shock as well as world-renowned graphic artist Eric Haze have come together to work on numerous projects, where among them include a quartet of highly coveted timepieces. In order to parade the fact that G-Shock has been around for 30 years in the market already, both G-Shock and Eric Haze have joined forces yet again in order to come up with a unique G-Shock timepiece which is a testament to the close partnership that exists between Haze and G-Shock.
Eric is an old hand at designing G-Shock timepieces over the years, and he also had the honor to work on G-Shock’s 25th Anniversary logo. Five years down the road, Eric also has the honor and distinct privilege to do so yet again for the 30th Anniversary of G-Shock. The logo itself is engraved on the case back of the GA110EH-8A commemorative watch, where Eric has used reinvigorating colors from previous Haze models, ensuring that the 30th Anniversary watch will come with an iridescent gray finish accompanied by red accents, so that his signature star icon logo will be able to pop off of the watchband.
This particular multi-colored design treatment will continue throughout on the dial with elements of red, black and white, further enhancing the distinct 3-dimensional effect of the layered dial.
Eric Haze said, “This collaboration speaks highly of the modern marriage of design and product, which treats premium collectable accessories as part of everyday fashion and iconography. The 30th Anniversary marks a quantum leap for Casio since the 25th Anniversary five years ago, with G-Shock’s ever-growing impact on the watch design and fashion worlds. My projects with G-Shock over the years have played a big part in my own history too, so this celebration has special meaning for me personally and professionally.”
The GA110EH-8A is one tough cookie to live up to its testament, boasting shock and magnetic resistance, 200M water resistance, auto LED light, world time (29TZ/48Citites+UTC), 4 daily alarms with 1 snooze, 1/1000th second stopwatch (100hr.) with speed indicator , countdown timer, and 12/24 hour formats. It will retail for $150 a pop if you are interested.

We’ve covered the Looj before, the first time it seems we thought it was a bit of a novelty item. Then it was redesigned and it looked as though the Looj might actually emerge as a pretty nifty tool. Well, the folks over at iRobot stuck with it and with the last update the Looj 330 is simply smarter and better than ever before, so forget dragging the ladder around your house this fall and check this out.
iRobot, the same folks that brought you the Roomba robot vacuum have perfected the robotic gutter cleaner. This little beast can clean up to 30 feet of gutter in about 5 minutes and can swipe past about 200 linear feet on a single charge. Using a handy remote control, you can drive this leaf hungry menace much further along your house than ever before. Get the job done faster, and more importantly… safely.
The Looj works by using a unique combination of onboard tools, like the high velocity 4 stage auger which breaks apart gutter clogs and then tosses them out of your gutters, and the new scraper and sweeper system that brushes out the remaining debris.Waterproof and able to be cleaned with a simple spray of your garden hose, you have directional control of both the Looj and the auger, and this models new lower profile allows you to clean more gutter types than ever before.
How much have you been paying to have someone come clean out your gutters? or worse yet, have you been up on that ladder yourself? At 299 bucks the Looj 330 may be just what you need. Check out iRobot.com for ordering information.
